See All Reviews2bd time in 2 weeks website said was open. Until 7:pm. Drove down from shorewood. Completely closed the first time. Got there the 2nd time at 6:15 . Website and window said they were open. I it is only set up as drive up, Gave him a wave. He gave me the thumbs down ! It’s time for you decide if you want to be in business or not. Close it or sell it! I will never try again! Drove over to the BIG CHILL GRILL! ! 2 minutes away. I had 2 great dogs with a root beer … and they were happy to serve you during biz hours posted. Oh ya, you can actually go in and sit down like a real Resturant !! Very sad, I started as a kid on Cass st over 60 yrs ago! I won’t waste my time next I am in town! Good -bye!
6 years after covid quarantine, I still dream of the days when we could sit inside at that counter, eat hot dogs fresh off the grill, and sip root beer from frosted mugs. Hey! Hot Dog was a restaurant unlike any other, and in my opinion, removing the ability to dine-in was a dealbreaker. It took away the uniqueness of the experience. Takeout food will also be less fresh if not consumed immediately. I understand that the priorities of this business have shifted, and I would rather it exists in its current state than not at all. I will always support local business. But I do want to express that I am a customer who vastly prefers how things were here in the decades before covid. Nevertheless, I appreciate Hey! Hot Dog for still sticking around. Every one of my memories here are positive, and I hope this place doesn’t go anywhere.
You aren’t finding a better hotdog joint in Illinois. Their root beer is also top tier
